Because color is what the salon does most, extensions are matched to your finished shade. If you are having balayage or highlights as well, the color is done first and the hair is matched to the result.

- Why is the hair not included in the price?
- Extension hair varies enormously in quality and quantity. Bundling it hides the real cost. You buy the hair, you own it, and you can reuse it at your next move-up.
- How long do extensions last?
- Tape-ins need moving up every 6 to 8 weeks. Beaded wefts every 8 to 10 weeks. The hair itself can last 6 to 12 months with proper care.
- Will extensions damage my hair?
- Not when they are installed at the right weight for your density and moved up on schedule. Damage comes from leaving them in too long and from wearing more weight than your hair can carry.
- Do I need a consultation first?
- Yes, always. We color match to your corrected shade before we fit anything. Matching to an uncorrected base is the single most common reason extensions look wrong.
- Can extensions add volume rather than length?
- Yes. Shorter wefts placed for density rather than length are common for fine hair, and they read as thicker hair rather than longer hair.
- Which extensions are best for fine or thin hair?
- Tape-ins are usually the best match for fine hair. The tabs lie flat against the head and spread the weight across a wide section, so they are hard to see and gentle on the root. We check your density at consultation before recommending a method.
- Can extensions be matched to blonde or balayage?
- Yes. We match after your own color is finished, so the blend is made to your new shade rather than your old one. That matters most with blonde, where a shade of difference is easy to see.
